About the Exhibition
The Heartbeats Swiss Tour 2021 Heartbeats Swiss Tour 2021 – an initiative by Claudia Knie and Carolina Caroli, which combined art in public spaces with social engagement.
Heart sculptures, individually designed by artists, were exhibited in Bern, Zurich and Rapperswil and subsequently auctioned off. The proceeds, channelled through Swiss Solidarity, supported people in Switzerland who were particularly affected by the social and economic consequences of the coronavirus pandemic – including children and young people in difficult life situations, as well as people without a fixed abode.
Isabelle Habegger contributed her art to the initiative, thereby continuing her long-standing social commitment.
Fortunately, Switzerland has a social welfare system that enables it to help as many people as possible in times of crisis. However, the vulnerability and gaps in this system have been highlighted by the impact of the pandemic. The economic and social consequences of the pandemic will be felt for many years to come, and it is crucial to support those most severely affected.
