The Great White and the Forms of Hope

There are moments when life comes to a standstill. Everything turns white – open, fragile and uncertain. For Isabelle Habegger, this whiteness is not an empty space, but a beginning. A place where the visible recedes and something new can emerge: a journey inwards.

Her art navigates the space between vulnerability and a new beginning. It does not speak of the rupture itself, but of the power of transformation. Lines emerge from uncertainty, movement from resistance, form from stillness. Painting, sculpture, installation and performance become forms of expression for a process in which inner experiences take shape.

Yet her work always remains oriented towards life. Colour, form, sound and movement become a language that touches upon the inexpressible without defining it. The works open up spaces of resonance in which personal experiences connect with the perceptions of the viewers.

The result is a work that makes room for hope without obscuring the depth of life. Isabelle Habegger’s art speaks of a zest for life because it recognises fragility. She allows the vast whiteness of uncertainty to give way to forms of hope and confidence – and opens up spaces in which change, strength and new beginnings become a personal experience.

Countries, people and cultures have been a constant presence in my artistic work for many years. Every encounter leaves its mark – some immediately, others only much later. For me, inspiration begins with the openness to allow myself to be moved and transformed.

The Voyage de Isa brings these traces to light. It invites you to retrace the path of my works – back to the places, encounters and moments from which they emerged. Impressions become memories, memories become inner images, and from these arise paintings, sculptures, installations or performances.

Public art, as well as projects for businesses and private living spaces, are also part of this journey. What begins along the way returns, transformed, to the studio, where it finds its artistic expression.

Every work bears traces of these encounters – an echo from Guilin, a light from Barcelona or a memory of New York. The world map shows the stops on my journey. And it remains deliberately open-ended. For every new encounter can be the beginning of another work.
