Original text about the exhibition

Through her unique approach to painting, Swiss artist Isabelle Habegger is able to transform her subject for the viewer, offering them a fresh perspective on the spiritual nature of familiar objects and forms. Her work is alternately abstract and figurative, with her representational work focused on capturing natural landscapes and elements, as well as human forms. She achieves a unique style by combining various shapes, moods and colours into harmonious compositions and inspiring vistas. In Habegger’s paintings, colours are skilfully used to set the mood for the entire piece. The result is works that are highly expressionistic and imbued with meaning. A hallmark of Habegger’s work is the freedom of her brushstrokes. Forms flow seamlessly from one to the next, whether she is creating representational images or abstract renderings.

Ultimately, Habegger’s paintings are a response to the barrage of stimuli we humans encounter every day. It is the artist’s greatest hope that her viewers will find solace and inspiration in the spiritual nature of her work.
