Habegger’s installations achieve a three-dimensional effect through staggered glass panels of varying sizes. Using ornamental or serial painting techniques – with dots, concentric circles, lines and grids – the artist creates an additional sense of depth. A sense of space is also created by front-facing lighting, causing the painted sections to cast a play of shadows onto the planes behind them. The monochrome panels in the rearmost plane bring out the interplay of the predominantly warm colours even more effectively.

Isabelle Habegger does not only work alone in her studio, but also performs with artists from other disciplines, particularly musicians. She draws inspiration from singing and instrumental music, with different moods finding their way into her painting.
